Betting this tournament is kind of a lottery. Great shots can bounce right off turtle-back greens with shaved rough around the green. In addition trees and deep bunkers will penalize missed fairways and greens. Having said that - there are some great players at great odds. I spread the bets around a little this week for that reason and included some long hitters like Watson and Holmes. With precision at a premium - I like Xander Schauffele a lot who can throw darts and is also long. Also staying on Cantlay. Reavie has back to back runner ups. Spieth has been crippled by his putting lately - missing everything inside 10 feet.
Tiger is back and worth a cover at 40-1. He does not have the same record of success here as he does at last weeks Pebble Beach. He does have 2 Top 10s in 03 and 04m but has not played here on tour since 2007.
OMAN
I have some good Intel here. Sharma may be the hottest player in Asia with 3 top 10s and 2 wins - worth a cover. Chawrasia has a similar MO. Herbert is trending very hot and due for a win. Bjork is my Top Pick here with good recent and history at the event. Staying on Khongwatmai at 100-1 to break thru after a ton of top 10s. Also Haydn Porteous after some good showings and near wins. Dantorp is a great dark horse with 3 straight top 10s here.
